Transport Emissions Reduction and Resilience Plan 2024-2029
Tasmanian Government - Climate Change Office
Tasmania’s Climate Change Office released a Transport Emissions Reduction and Resilience Plan 2024-2029. The Transport Emissions Reduction and Resilience Plan 2024-29 is the first legislated Plan for the transport sector under the Climate Change (State Action) Act 2008. This Plan builds on work undertaken to date to improve the Tasmanian transport system and to support the transition to low and zero emissions technology.
Tasmania achieved net negative carbon for the 9th year in a row in August 2024, thanks to their investment in renewable energy and large forested areas. Despite this, the plan still commits to further carbon emissions by reducing whole-of-life carbon for the transport sector through mode-shift and low-emissions infrastructure.
